Guy Gift Alert! Dapper Wallets From Discarded Fabrics & Neckties
Posted In: Style | Posted By: Brit
Searching for a perfect gift for yourself or your beau this Christmas? Debuted at last month’s New York Gift Fair, the Jetsam wallet collection by Prix Prix is named after the 16th century term for unwanted material that was thrown overboard to lighten a ship’s load. And not only are they some of the most dapper men’s accessories that I’ve seen lately, they are also eco-friendly - each wallet is made of end-run fabrics, cast-off clothing, and vintage textiles and comes packaged in a signature screen-printed gift box made in the USA from 95% recycled paper.
They have four collections to choose from:
- Spiffy Lumberjack (plaid flannel)
- Natty Professor (lots of wooly and serious patterns)
- Uncle Larry (crazy prints and colors - obvs, this one is my favorite)
- Prepster (stripes, argyles, etc)
For only $38, it's not a bad gift idea (or too much to splurge on yourself). Or, if you have a tie or fabric of your own that you'd like to turn into a more personalized wallet, this seller on Etsy will accept goods you mail her and will stitch up a custom billfold for you. Here's to a more creative back pocket.
